workshop: Children can fake too
Children are allowed to take photos at the exhibition of local artists and then edit or cut them to create a surreal collage. With clay or plasticine and with Lego, they can make and decorate figurines and chapels. Telling and reenacting legends is also quite fun. Being creative around faking is the message!
Family-friendly: Two interns from the teacher training program at KHLeuven are developing an active and creative program around faking and will also provide guidance.

exhibition: Where one looks along Herk chapels
In this photo exhibition, you get an overview of all the chapels in the Herk area, with explanations of why they were built and for which saint. Books on statues, painting techniques, marbling, wood carving, and various fabrics make clear how one could deceive the eye in the decoration of these chapels.

lecture: Saints, superstition, and magic
In the past, people went to chapels to pray for healing, work... Ex-votos testify to those successful requests... But is this superstition? Bart Lauvrijs, author of the book 'Faith, Superstition, and Folklore', will talk on Heritage Day about saints, faith, superstition, and chapels. Believe it or not, there will be coffee and cake during the break!
