in 1995, the first junction network in the world was cycled in here in Limburg. The story has been told many times in the meantime. It was mining engineer Hugo Bollen who reworked the navigation system from the Limburg mines into a concept for a bicycle network. In the meantime, the system has also been exported across national borders. After the Netherlands, the East Cantons, the German region of Heinsberg and the Walloon region of Famenne, signs have now also been placed in Picardy Wallonia, the westernmost region of Hainaut around Tournai, Ath and Enghien.
