Haspengouw is a rural region surrounding the cities of Bilzen, Borgloon, Sint-Truiden, Tongeren, Borgworm, Hannuit, Geldenaken, Landen, Tienen, and Zoutleeuw. Haspengouw features rolling landscapes of very fertile lands used for agriculture and livestock farming. It is part of the Clay District. Haspengouw is divided into Wet Haspengouw in the north and Dry Haspengouw in the south. Wet Haspengouw is known for its fruit and dairy production. Dry Haspengouw is known for its sugar beets and wheat.
