Les Zéphyrs is a listed villa dating from between the two world wars where you can discover how a family would have spent the summer holidays on the Belgian coast in the 1930s. The building was restored and refurnished as part of the project Kunsthistories. The villa’s design has its origins in a concept from 1910 by the famous Ghent architect Oscar Van de Voorde, who designed it for the world exhibition in Brussels. Apart from unique panelling designed by another famous architect Henri van de Velde, the villa boasts a few other special architectural elements, amongst which the decoration of the cellar kitchen with a dumb waiter, the bathroom with sunken bath tub and complete tiling to the ceiling. Stained glass windows and fragments of original wallpaper recalling works by Louis De Koninck or Fritz Coppieters too, but where the designer has not been determined yet. At Les Zéphyrs, you can enquire after more current tourist information.
