Annevoie castle and gardens
Tended for over three centuries by the de Montpellier family, the gardens at Annevoie are particularly remarkable for the artistry with which the natural features of the site are used to create a harmonious and interesting whole.
Canals stretch into the distance, and ornamental ponds and lakes alternate with grassed sitting areas to which successive generations have added tall fountains or pieces of sculpture, including works in cast metal.
Footpaths link the tree-lined walks, the quiet semi-shaded corners and the beautiful woodland.
The gardens were bought by the Walloon Region in 2000 and restoration efforts are currently underway.
