Dikkele is a village in the municipality of Zwalm, in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The village centre exudes the atmosphere of the early 20th century, and owes this tranquillity mainly to the fact that there is no through traffic. The Provinciale Baan runs in a wide arc around the village, and has therefore saved it from road engineering interventions such as widening and asphalting. If you have no business in the village centre, you won't get there. Dikkele is one of the 50 most beautiful villages in Flanders.
