'Villa Alice' = Hotel Classic

* Distellaan nr. 39. Former "VILLA ALICE", now "HOTEL CLASSIC". Protected as a monument by M.B. of 10.06.2002. Single-family house in cottage style, rebuilt in 1923 according to a design by architect Oscar Dumon (Bruges) from 1910. Two bays and three building levels under a gable roof (mechanical tiles) with a climbing dormer on the left. Ashlar plinth; façade cladding of light yellow decorative stone, enlivened by dark yellow bands and stretchers. Third floor with cemented pseudo-timber framing, protruding on brackets. On the right, a risalit containing a three-sided wooden bay window under a slate canopy with a wooden balcony; wooden parapet with similar small spirelets for supporting the overhanging canopy; crowning gable with a rectangular attic window and pseudo-timber framing. Rectangular windows with well-finished woodwork, including sliding windows with small muntin division in the upper lights. Rectangular door under a slate canopy on wooden consoles above which a wooden balcony with a basket-arched door window. DEPARTMENT ROHM WEST FLANDERS, Monument and Landscapes Cell, archive no. 1811.
