Sniff up the past in the renovated water castle of Pietersheim, which was owned by the Merode family until 1971. The 12th-century water castle is the silent witness of the glorious and tumultuous battles of the Lords of Pietersheim. From the medieval castle, you can still see the circular defensive walls and gate tower. The 16th-century chapel hall has also been preserved and fully renovated. Visitors can access all the hidden spots of the castle via a floating walkway (also accessible for people with disabilities).

As a welcome, every visitor can enjoy a stunning view of the castle square and the surrounding park from the new platform in the gate building. In the large 'viewing box on legs' next to the chapel, visitors can see the complete story of the castle in a film.
