The Old Saint Peter

No. 18. Café-butcher z.g. "In de oude Sint-Pieter"; the oldest mention dates back to 1763. Current appearance partly determined in 1927, on behalf of brewer E. Carpentier, at the request of V. Buyse (Izegem): this plan included the unimplemented replacement of this gable with the capping of the roofing. Deep house of four and five bays and two floors under a gable roof. White-painted brick gable with weaving on a grey-painted plinth. Lower windows with geometric stained glass in the transoms from the renovation period. Rectangular wing door; partly glazed and with door grille. Interior from the 1930s. R.: former butcher shop with preserved counter and refrigerators. L.: former tavern with preserved bar; granite stairs lead to the higher located hall. SAI Construction v. 21/ 1927.
