Quintinus was the son of a Roman senator and was stationed as a legionary in Amiens (Samarabriva), Northern France. He was Christian and preached his faith. During the great Christian persecution under Emperor Diocletian, he was captured in 287, tortured, beheaded, and thrown into the Somme († October 31). This popular saint is invoked against, among other things, rheumatism, nerve and heart diseases, dropsy, convulsions, growing pains, swellings, tumors, whooping cough, and finger ailments, stomach complaints. During the restoration of the church (1967-1970), several fragments of wall paintings (15th century) were discovered on the side walls of the high choir. These scenes, according to the 'Roll of Saint Quintin', are about the “vita” of the Saint.
