The blackberry:
Latin Name: rubus fructicosus
Characteristics: Long creeping stems that can grow up to 6 m long.
Habitat: The blackberry feels at home on all soils.
Flower: The flowers have a white to pink color.
Leaf: The leaves are usually serrated with a red sheen at the base.
Fruit: The fruits grow up to 4 cm in size. They consist of several spherical subfruits. They are red at first and then they turn black.
Fun fact: The edible fruit is often used in the kitchen to make jam, for example.
The fruits used to be used to color fabrics. The dried leaves can be used to make tea.
