About the artist

Painter, graphic artist (screen printing), designer of installations. After his training at the Antwerp Academy, he began experimenting with performances and installations. He also painted for a while; his initially large canvases were soon reduced to small panels with mysterious emblems. He plays, neither abstract nor figurative, with signs and images, ideas, objects, symbols. In 1997, Narcisse Tordoir won the Culture Prize of the Flemish Community for Visual Arts. He draws his inspiration from text fragments, the legacy of René Magritte, ideas, objects, erotic symbols.


About the artwork

In this neon artwork, he allows the viewer a free interpretation. You have to use your intuition, orient yourself. You get a sense of mystery: you can understand the figures, but not explain them. Reason and emotion play harmoniously off each other.
