Station Tielen

We start our walk at the Tielen station. This station building has been here since 1890. It is the replacement for the original station building, which was located across the railway. That was built in 1856, a year after the first train - traveling from Lier to Turnhout - passed through here on April 23, 1855.

Tielen is the only station in Kasterlee. For 170 years you could take the train here, with the exception of the period between 1959 and 1970, when the stop was temporarily not served. Today, part of the station has been converted into a hospitality venue, although there is currently no business located there. In 2024, an average of 655 passengers took the train here on weekdays.
