Bull Mill

A short history
The very first mention of the Buulmolen dates back to 1362. On the night of July 11, 1744, the mill burned down, but it was rebuilt in the autumn and winter. In 1938, the mill had to make way for the construction of the Albert Canal. Completely dismantled, it was transported to the Noordkasteel in Antwerp where it remained until 1986. Eventually, it was dismantled again and left to its fate. In 1994, the city of Antwerp was willing to give the mill back. After renovation, the Buulmolen returned to its place in Olen in 2003.
Location
The mill is located on Industrielaan, near the lock of Olen.
Opening hours
Fixed times to visit the mill: every last Sunday of the month:
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM (October to March)
1:00 PM - 6:00 PM (April to September)
The miller is always present during these times and can tell you a lot about the operation and history of the mill. The visit is free.
Individual or group visits at other times:
If you want to visit the mill at another time, it is best to make an appointment by phone with the miller. Please note that you will pay a 5 euro travel fee to the miller.
Tip: the walk 'Het Buulmolenpad' departs from the Buulmolen.
