Katerheidemolen

Katerheidemolen (intersection with Molenweg), on the hamlet of Sint-Mariaburg (north of Donk). Already mention of a ban mill in the first half of the 16th century, burned down during the siege of Antwerp and rebuilt in 1598; later recovered several times. After straightening the old track to Bergen-op-Zoom (third quarter of the 18th century), the old wooden mill was located 500 meters from the new cobblestone road; between 1774 and 1778 a new stone Katerheidemolen was built on the current site. Until 1894 windmill, afterwards powered by steam engine, petroleum, gas and electricity; Blades disappeared in 1916. The mill was restored and converted into a theatre connected to the nearby cultural centre to the north. Stone mill hull with round-arched wall openings and clear traces of a wooden walkway on the second storey.
