Church of Our Lady of the Snows

The oriented parish church of Our Lady of the Snows is located on the south side of the Dendermondesteenweg, which forms the main axis of the village center and traditionally bisects the municipality from east to west. The church is built on a rectangular plot, the former cemetery, at the intersection with Kerkham and opposite the Kerkstraat. The west façade on Kerkham overlooks the Van Acker estate with its castle, now the town hall, which is protected as a townscape. The former cemetery is now largely paved. Only a strip next to the road has been laid out as a lawn planted with three young lime trees.
