The Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-van-Bijstand-der-Christenenkerk, also known simply as the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk, is a church in the Belgian city of Sint-Niklaas. The church is dedicated to Our Lady with the title Help of Christians. The church was built on the northwest side of the Grote Markt, thus making a third infringement on the deed of donation by Margaretha II of Flanders. The three-nave cruciform church was designed by the Ghent city architect Lodewijk Roelandt, in collaboration with Louis Van Overstraeten. Roelandt was a strong advocate of eclecticism, which means blending style elements from earlier times into a new whole. For this parish church, he conceived a building in neo-Romanesque-Byzantine style with Gothic elements. On the church square, one notices a rather sober gray exterior, made of Brabant limestone from Gobertange. This contrasts sharply with the fully polychrome interior, which was restored between 1994 and 1998 and forms a harmonious whole. The construction of the tower was completed at the end of the 19th century according to the design of Jules Goethals.
