The Bremberg conference center is located on the Boetsenberg at the end of a cobbled road. On one side it leans against the Meerdaal Forest, while on the other side the center offers views of the rolling fields towards Bierbeek and Opvelp. Since 1968, this quiet place has been a reflection center. It was purchased in 1992 by the COV, the teachers' union of the ACV, which extensively renovated and modernized it, and sold it in 2004 to the CMB, the metalworkers' union of the ABVV. In 2009, the municipal council granted permission for limited expansion works, a decision that was poorly received by the local residents. They feared a gradual transformation into a commercial hotel operation.
