PolderMAS

The PolderMAS is a museum that aims to house the history of the Scheldt polders. The name is a nod to the Polder Museum in Lillo-Fort and the MAS in Antwerp. The collection consists of a collection of archaeology, found along the banks of the Scheldt at low tide, a collection of fossils and an extensive collection of clay pipes. There are also etchings and old maps and paintings and photographs. The agricultural tools and various alaam, which refers to polder life, are housed in the stables of De Reinaerthoeve. The PolderMAS is located in a small hamlet along the Scheldt, which is bathed in tranquility and exudes a unique authenticity. All the objects in the museum take you back to a bygone era: they carry a story: come and discover it and experience it with us! The PolderMAS is a museum on the move: the collection is still growing, we have an eye for contemporary art and organise various cultural activities, both indoors – such as lectures, (digital) photo presentations, musical performances,...- and outdoors (in function of preserving the heritage landscape), such as the replanting of a row of pollard willows and the restoration of the Kapellekenspad. In short: the PolderMAS is a cabinet of curiosities with a magnifying glass on the history of the polders along the Lower Scheldt! WELCOME!
