Kluiskapel

Our Lady Chapel, also known as "Kluiskapel," located in the Kluisbos. First mentioned in the 8th century when Saint Ursmarus founded a cella there, which later became dependent on the Abbey of Affligem. Construction of the current chapel in 1758. Demolition of the dilapidated section in 1835, so now only the choir remains. White-painted brick and sandstone building with a three-sided closure under a steep roof (roofing) with a bell tower. Sandstone base and corner blocks. Small portal under a gabled roof with a round-arched door and an old bluestone holy water font on the right. Side walls with pointed arch windows in painted frames made of sintered brick and with profiled drip lists. In the choir closure, a small pointed arch window in a similar frame. Furnishings: folk Our Lady statuette from the 16th century.
