The chair-lift of Coo brings you from 240m above sea level after 700m 220m higher.
The chair-lift was installed in 1956 and celebrated its 60th birthday in 2016 (together with 10 years of Plopsacoo).
At the foot of the waterfall there was a small playground: one or two swings and a small terrace with a bar. The installation of the chair-lift, the first major attraction, was a turning point and was not welcomed by everyone.
For example, there is the anecdote of an owner or tenant of land in the lower part that the chair-lift did not want. He built a huge haystack around an extraordinarily high post under the lift to tickle the feet of the people who took the chair-lift and sabotage a little bit.
A few days before the winter opening in 2007, a crane of the Association Intercommunale pour le Démergement et l' Epuration, the Walloon counterpart of Aquafin, drove under the chair-lift. The chair-lift was hit because the valve of the crane was raised, with the result that the chair-lift, which was closed at the time of the event, was dragged along. The cable came down.
The injury was substantial. For example, a new cable as well as new running wheels had to be laid. In addition, Plopsa Coo has decided to check all poles of the attraction in order to guarantee the safety of the visitors.
