Barbecue - bivouac of white wood

The Blancs Bois bivouac area sits high above the Ourthe and Cowan valleys .

It is right on the Escapardenne section of the main signposted route between Alhoumont and Houffalize (or vice versa). The GR 57 also passes through the area, but not through the bivouac site. You can't miss the place. The name Blancs Bois refers, among other things, to the white trunks of the birch, which can still be found between the many pines.

The Blancs Bois bivouac area is a special case . Share this bivouac spot with holidaymakers who can have a barbecue here in a large hut . The BBC site cannot be reserved , so you have the same right as them to be present on site, make a sausage and camp. Read the bivouac rules on the information board again. This bivouac does not have a water point, so bring your water supply from Houffalize.

Open since June 2015, the small bivouacs (bivouacs) are part of a wider project around an authentic 24/7 nature experience in the Parc Naturel des Deux Ourthes (Province of Luxembourg) during your multi-day hiking trip, by bike or on horseback. You can spend the night there and continue hiking or cycling the next morning, possibly to another bivouac site.

Together with the 9 bivouac places in the Viroin-Hermeton Natural Park , this bivouac option in the Deux Ourthes Natural Park is unique in Wallonia and a beautiful development.
