Domain Nieuwenhoven - 't Kelshof

The forest in Nieuwenhoven is an old park forest of 161 ha for which no agricultural land was sacrificed. The castle of Nieuwenhoven served as a summer residence for the abbots from the 10th to the 18th century. The domain encompasses a rich flora and fauna, a beautiful fish pond, an educational pond, and an ecological wastewater treatment facility. The forest has its charms in every season. Families are welcome in the spacious playground next to brasserie 't Kelshof.

At the entrance of the domain, near the parking lot, there is a large dog park and a dog walking trail. In the visitor center, children can get acquainted with all aspects of the forest, and there are educational projects available for schools. There are various signposted walks, and the cycling route network runs right past it. In the fruitarium, you will mainly find old varieties of plums, apples, pears, and cherries.

The domain and the playground are open to the public every day.
