Torfbroek

The Torfbroek is located south of Kampenhout and the Brussels-Haacht stone road, near the hamlet of Berg. The main carrier of aesthetic value is the large central pond, surrounded by bushes and forests, which shield this space from the surrounding buildings. The open agricultural lands south of the Torfbroek, including the Oudenhuisveld, are also important, not only for hydrological reasons, because this is the only side where the original rural framework of the Torfbroek swamp was preserved. It is also along the south side that the most attractive external observation points of the Torfbroek are located.
