Lichtervelde Station

First station building from 1847; new station established in 1858. Current complex from 1912-1914; however bombed during World War I, mainly the north wing, followed by reconstruction. Stationmaster's residence with three bays and two floors between two low wings, to the southeast one bay with adjoining wall and to the northwest thirteen bays with offices, ticket counters, and waiting room; tiled gable roofs (ridge parallel to the street). To the northwest, a freestanding sanitary block of two bays and one floor under a tiled hipped roof (ridge perpendicular to the street). Wooden cornices decorated with lambrequins. Grey brick construction adorned with red brick on a blue stone plinth. Long rectangular facade rhythmically punctuated by blind panels. Under the cornice of the stationmaster's residence, tile panels with horse market and floral motifs. On the side walls, casements with the inscription "Lichtervelde". Round-arched wall openings on the ground floor, pointed arched on the upper floor, with oculi in the side walls.
