Malmundarium

Much more than a museum: the tourist heart of Malmedy. The ground floor and the storage rooms (accessible by elevator) in the listed building are excellently restored. The playfully designed museum tour with numerous information columns and video films takes visitors through the leather workshop, the paper workshop - papermaking on request – the carnival workshop, as well as through the cathedral's treasure chamber and the Historium, a historical journey spanning 14 centuries. Temporary exhibitions: High-profile art exhibitions featuring classical and contemporary works are showcased year-round in the "MonArt" gallery and in the exhibition spaces on the top floor. In 2016: "Carnival in Rio and Costumes" in the context of the Olympic Games, "Belgian Devils" in connection with Euro 2016. Animation, activities, and tours: With fun questionnaires and puzzle games, the visit becomes interactive and playful. Multilingual guides are available for groups for an entertaining tour. The animators from the community library offer several educational animation programs for school groups.
