To keep the memory of the Battle of the Bulge alive, the Baugnez 44 Historical Center brings to mind the last major operations and battles that took place during the "Operation Wacht am Rhein" Offensive! This museum dedicated to the Battle of the Bulge and the massacre at Baugnez / Malmedy, spread over 850 m2 and divided over 2 floors, presents a new museography as well as a scenography of breathtaking realism. Authentic materials, vehicles, photos, and films from this period, filled with emotion and history, invite you to delve into the very heart of the Battle of the Bulge.
You will find no less than 120 display cases and 15 scenes, reconstructed from the lives of the soldiers during the Battle of the Bulge, including 2 unique to Belgium, equipped with a sound and lighting system, which transport you back to the winter of 1944, during the Battle of the Bulge. You will discover an exceptional collection, including several pieces that are unique in the world.
Throughout your visit, you will be accompanied by a multilingual audio guide that provides detailed commentary on the Battle of the Bulge, as well as the history of the exhibited pieces and the anecdotes surrounding them. This way, you can relive history and better understand the Battle of the Bulge. The museum is regarded as one of the finest in its genre.
