DEPARTURE POINT rides Van Hee & Partners Cycling Team.

From March to the end of September, every Sunday morning at 9:00 AM, a ride departs from our clubhouse, Sint-Annakring, located at Roklijf 4. We always return by 12:00 PM and enjoy a cozy drink together in or on the terrace of Sint-Annakring. Fun on and off the bike is our motto!

We start together as a whole group and split into an A and B team after approximately 10 km. The A team rides at a slightly more sporty pace of 29 to 30 km/h for a ride of approximately 85 km. The B team maintains a pace of 26 to 27 km/h for routes that are always 5 to 10 km shorter than those of the A team. For both teams, the rule is "Together out, together home!" Each team is always led by a number of road captains.

The rides are grouped into 4 blocks: In the first month, we ride flatter routes in which we gradually increase the difficulty level, allowing everyone to build up their level smoothly after the winter. In the second and third months, we focus on rides that include more elevation and offer some variety in landscape; we strive to avoid departing in the same direction for two consecutive weeks. During the vacation months of July and August, we offer varied rides with a manageable B-ride and a slightly more challenging A-ride, depending on the number of participants. In September, the A-rides become challenging again while the B-rides remain achievable for those who have ridden less over the summer.

Thanks to our loyal and exclusive sponsor, Van Hee & Partners, our members receive a simple but very nice outfit for both summer and winter. Anyone joining our cycling club is also immediately registered and insured with Cycling Vlaanderen.
