The Maat-Den Diel (145 ha) combines shallow fens, dry and wet heathland, forests and extensive ponds with wide reed beds.
The rare kingfisher feels completely at home there. On a balmy spring evening, the natterjack toads make for a beautiful concert. It is also home to the largest dragonfly collection in Flanders (more than 40 species!).
The flora is equally impressive. Norwegian fjord horses, Scottish highland cattle and Kempen heath sheep keep this special landscape intact.
A must is the signposted nature walk 'Den Diel' (4 km). Belongs to hiking network Kempense Meren.
