Swimming pool Den Bessem had 45 years on the clock when it closed its doors at the end of 2015.
To tackle the need for bathing water in the Zuidrand, Borsbeek, Edegem and Hove joined forces with the city of Mortsel and built a new swimming pool in 2018.
With a slope and adjustable bottom, the pool excels in accessibility, even bedridden people can enjoy the pool. The 25-metre pool is ideal for future swimmers, schools and clubs, and there is also an instruction pool.
This swimming pool also wants to be a pioneer in the ecological field. Emissions will be reduced by aiming for a K-level between 10 and 20 and a water reuse of up to 70%.
