La piscina Den Bessem tenía 45 años cuando cerró sus puertas a finales de 2015.
Para abordar la necesidad de agua de natación en la zona sur, Borsbeek, Edegem y Hove unieron fuerzas con la ciudad de Mortsel y construyeron una nueva piscina en 2018.
Con una pendiente y fondo ajustable, la piscina destaca por su accesibilidad, incluso las personas postradas en cama pueden disfrutar de la piscina. La piscina de 25 metros es ideal para nadadores futuros, escuelas y clubes, también hay una piscina de enseñanza.
Esta piscina también quiere ser un pionero en términos ecológicos. Se limitará la emisión buscando un K-peil entre 10 y 20 y un reaprovechamiento de agua del 70%.
