This empire building by architect Jacques Dutry was built in 1807. For many years it was the 'plaything' of the noble Van de Woestijne family. The castle was surrounded by an English-style garden, which was innovative for its time. The ice cellar and the orangery from 1836 are also worth seeing. The ice cellar was set up by Natuurpunt as a winter home for bats. Several members of the family were avid plant and flower collectors.
