Flandria's red and white bikes were world famous in the 1960s and 1970s. Flandria ventured into cycle sponsoring, with Briek Schotte as team manager. The Flandria team included stars like Eric and Roger De Vlaeminck, Freddy Maertens, Rik Van Looy, Walter Godefroot, Michel Pollentier, Joop Zoetemelk... The FC Barcelona of cycling. For twenty years, Flandria sponsored various cycling teams and riders, until the company went bankrupt in 1981. In 2004 Flandria was re-launched in the UK.
