The castle of Reuland (built in the 12th century) was a magnificent structure until the 18th century. The current ruin complex still has dimensions of 55 m by 65 m. In addition to the actual defensive castle, there was also a castle ring and a double-encompassing moat with a protective embankment. Until the early 14th century, the castle served as the residence of the noble family of Reuland. The collections include items found on-site during archaeological excavations. The excavation and restoration works are explained with text and images. Presentation of all former owners and residents of the castle. Images of old documents and seals. Display cases with excavations and remnants from the nearby castle of Ouren. Guided tours available upon request.
