The University Hospital Brussels is the hospital of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. It is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of the VUB and works closely with the Department of Health of the Erasmus University College Brussels. UZ Brussel is a university hospital with almost 4,000 employees. With 721 hospital beds, UZ Brussel annually handles more than 30,000 admissions, almost as many day admissions, 360,000 consultations, for patients from Belgium and abroad.

The UZ Brussel offers complete medical care, consisting of various specialisms. Moreover, this is inextricably linked to its training function specific to a university hospital. Organising medical training is only possible if the hospital has the full range of clinical care. Another important focus is scientific research.
