More than 100 springs in Brussels!

The Emperor's spring, located at the end of a wooden walkway, is found at the foot of a steep slope in the valley known as the Grandes Flosses. There is no bubbling, but water springs up quietly and has carved a lovely depression over the centuries. The spring is said to be named after Emperor Charles V, who supposedly enjoyed refreshing himself there when he came to hunt deer and wild boar in the 16th century in this part of the forest. Previously, it may have been called the spring of the Clabots, a name with an uncertain meaning that is still carried today by the two ponds located downstream.
