Dogs have their own place in Bulskampveld. The Nature and Forestry Agency (ANB) has set up a dog area right next to the 't Aanwijs car park.
The zone was created in 2014.
A dog area is a fenced green space where dogs can roam and play in complete safety without disturbing others. Dogs are also welcome in the rest of the area, but must be kept on a leash.
The area has a social function for animals and humans. Dogs learn to tolerate other species, and owners can chat quietly with one another.
Flanders has one and a half million dogs . This means that every fourth household has a dog.
Every healthy dog should be able to treat themselves every now and then. Therefore, ANB has created an easily accessible dog area of 1.25 hectares . The ecological capacity of the area and also of the other nature visitors were taken into account.
The dog area is not a dog toilet. So "accidents" have to be cleaned up. Take these bags with you or leave them in the bins provided. So everyone can enjoy a beautiful dog area.
