A rare Art Deco house in the countryside

This beautiful residence was built in the early 1950s by the retired local headteacher. According to the current owner, the fear of the past war was still there, because the teacher provided some hidden hiding places for food, including above the outside door. The characteristics are unmistakable: the geometric appearance of large surfaces and horizontal bands, the rounded corners, the use of narrow brick, the rectangular rods in the windows with coloured glass, partly with stained glass and with an accent band of blue milk glass. The use of cimorné is also a sign of the times.
