Ferry connection to Ostend

Ferries take pedestrians and cyclists free of charge from the west bank ( Visserskaai, near the North Sea Aquarium ) to the east bank ( Marítima Square ) and vice versa.

Roger Raveel and the red square (the names of the ships) at sea are easily accessible for wheelchair users. It is accessed from the dock via a gentle ramp. By the way, the fountains are also environmentally friendly. They run on low-sulphur fuel and all zones are heated by revving the engines.

The colored feathers stand out and bear the typical Roger Raveel stamp. Therefore, the design comes from the hand of the artist Roger Raveel. He also chose the names of the feathers. Roger Raveel has something, both on DAB Vloot and Ostend. In the late 1980s, Raveel painted a series of murals in the 'Loodswezengebouw', flowing out of the hall into the corridors.
