Kievitsheide is a nature reserve south of the town of Sint-Jozef in the municipality of Rijkevorsel, Antwerp. It is European protected as part of the Natura 2000 area Kempen clay pits. The area, which lies south of the Dessel-Turnhout-Schoten Canal, was once part of the Abtsheide, which had an area of 900 hectares. However, the canal was dug through this and brick factories were also created, which dug out clay pits. Softwood was also planted for the brick factories and later the coal mines.
