The central entrance gate with a simple wrought iron railing between brick pillars gives access to the partially preserved oval forecourt .
A country estate is mentioned at this location as early as the second half of the 17th century . In the 18th century, a tree -lined avenue connects the castle directly with the center of Oostkamp (following the route of today's Meulemanstraat). The current appearance of the castle dates from 1906 according to the land register data.
In 2000, the neglected castle was bought by the Bruges Independent Freinet School Klimo p, which renovated it thoroughly.
Inside , the castle, now converted into a school building with classes, retains only limited memories of the grandeur of yesteryear.
At the back of the castle grounds is a remnant of a former vegetable garden, orchard and several small stables and storage rooms. Also preserved semi-rounded conservatory, built in 1936.
