The Rooienkapel is located on the corner of the Rooienkapel and the Schoorstraat in Gierle. The chapel is dedicated to Our Lady Visiting and is planted on a square tree-lined with oak and beech. Originally, the chapel was completely surrounded by a moat. The rectangular brick chapel dates back to the end of the 16th century. In the 19th century it was enlarged to the west. Above the entrance in the west façade is a niche with a statue of Our Lady and Child. The soberly plastered and painted interior has a barrel vault. The chapel was renovated in 1986. In 2005 the chapel was protected as a monument.
