The original chapel was built in the 17th century . This old chapel was destroyed during the French Revolution.
In 1874, the lord of the castle Victor Pycke de Peteghem had the current chapel built near the disappeared chapel.
The chapel consists of red brick with bands of white brick in neo-Romanesque style . The chapel has a large round-arched gate with a medallion . A neo-Romanesque round-arched window with a dividing column illuminates the side facades.
The statue of Our Lady of Lourdes is set in an imitation cave wall with an iron altar railing in front. Two statues of St. Joseph and the images of the Sacred Heart of Mary, the Sacred Heart of Jesus and a Stations of the Cross in plaster are the only ornaments on the side walls. At the back are a few more small statues, which means that this fairly large chapel is not overloaded. The metal sanctuary lamp has been preserved.
