Charming walk along open fields and through the forest area around Steenberg. The Steenberg site was a sand and stone quarry 100 years ago. Today it is an administrative center but also a recreation area with opportunities for a break in “De Kantien” or “EMotia”.

Directions

You start via Kerkstraat and then the 2nd street on the right (Sint-Pietersstraat).

Go straight onto the gravel road (Bremtweg).

Continue on the Bermtweg and further straight (de Goudenboomlos).

At the asphalt road, turn right to follow the Katstraat.

Then continue left onto the gravel road (Goudenboomlos).

You will go left further into Egemstraat. Continue on Egemstraat straight over the stream.

Continue your way along Egemstraat. On the left side, there is a small forest.

At the highway, turn right (Egemstraat) and continue straight into Seskenskouter.

Continue on the asphalt road and then go straight along the gravel road (Oude Heirweg).

You now arrive at the Steenberg site with the culture house EMotia in the foreground (possible break period).

Via the parking lot, the pond, and the administrative center, you arrive at “De Kantien” (possible break period).

You then continue the route along the back of “De Sporthal.”

Thus you arrive to the right at the road to Everdal. Continue a bit further left into the path.

Now continue straight via Beekkouterlos.

Cross Prinsdaal (straight) until you reach the Van Sande mills. Turn left there.

A little further, you will go right into a path.

At Sint-Annastraat, turn right.

Then continue left via Sint-Annazaal and the cemetery (Tweekerkenstraat).

At the end of Tweekerkenstraat, turn left and return to the starting point.
