Loop in a loop of 6km offered and signposted by Hiking Club de Vreugdestappers VZW during the Spring Walks Moorsel on 19/03/2023.

The narrow footpath 24 takes us to Stonemanor, a grocery store with English specialties. On the other side, we have a view of the Biesthof. We continue further to the Prinsendreef, the residence of the de Merode family, a princely lineage that played a role in the founding of Belgium in 1830. The castle also included an ice cellar, across the road – with a bench. The small detour uphill is worth it.
We leave the Prinsendreef towards the pond from which ice was cut in winter for the ice cellar. Here we need to be cautious, as we cross a stream. We find ourselves in the Plantsoenbos, between the Molenbeek and the supply for the pond on a winding path with an occasional (nice) obstacle.
Via footpath 24 we reach the pond of the Old Abbey. Here the "Charter of Cortenbergh" was issued in 1302. An early form of democracy for the ordinary citizen.
We leave the park via the Colomba site, a center for sports and recreation.
Neighborhood road 10 takes us back into the Plantsoenbos via a hilly forest path. Along the way, we encounter two of the three chapels that the forest is rich in. The loop continues via a gravel road to Lodderhoekstraat – with the impressive villa de la Kethulle, now owned by the Colruyt family – up to the parish hall.

Varied walk with a few fun obstacles in a predominantly wooded area. A few ponds along the way complete the walk.
