The course runs through the state forest of Florenne, then through the forest of the municipality of Villers-le-Gambon, and finally through a part of a private forest. The forest mainly consists of old high-stemmed oaks, rejuvenated with various planted deciduous and coniferous trees. The state forest of Florenne is recognized as a Natura 2000 area. The black woodpecker and the middle spotted woodpecker live there alongside deer and wild boars. Many different species of dragonflies, butterflies, birds, and mammals have also found their place in the forest and the sunny forest edges. In June, it is filled with orchids, a feast for the eyes! To protect this special flower, it is forbidden to pick them.
