From Laforêt, one of the Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia, the walk starts along the road. At a covered picnic area, it then goes into the forest. Along the steep descent to the river, you are overwhelmed in spring by the scent of wild leeks that grow in abundance here. An entrance to an old slate quarry now serves as a shelter for bats. The return route follows the Semois downstream. Just before the village, you pass the spot where the Pont de Claies is erected every summer.
