The Bulskampveld is very popular with hikers. But most of them do not go beyond the part between parking lot 't Aanwijs and the castle. This hike explores the other, lesser-known and therefore quieter side of the Bulskampveld.
The knots make the hike easy to follow.
Start at car park ' t Aanwijs , which is also accessible by public transport. You can also start in Wildenburg , where there are plenty of parking spaces. But maybe you would like to offer the gastronomy in Wildenburg as a stopover (after 8 km)?
We cross the road and immediately enter the pine-covered purgatory forests. A little further you come to an open field with, among other things, the country ponds and the neglected Marienkapelle. After the Lindeveld , it is best to follow the bridle path at junction 43 along the busiest road. We only miss the Vagevuurkapel in the Blauwhuisstraat.
We go up the Hendriksberg , the so-called Cuesta (asymmetric hill). After passing through pine and deciduous forests we reach the Boskapelledreef where we take a new path through the restored lake from Caluwenbroek to De Gruytere . We are now fully in the promenade area of Wildenburg.
There are a few restaurants in Wildenburg, but also the Sint-Joriskerk and the cemetery with its special history. We return to the Bulskampveld on the old Bruggeweg . We pass the lookout tower of Eendeputten to return to the starting point through the Prat de Gossos .
Also, check out the sightseeing information while you're there. They tell you what you can see!
