What is more pleasant than heading out to one of the more special waterfalls in the country? The route is easy to follow via the network of virtual walking junctions. However, you first need to follow the walk 'le cascade du Bayehon' to virtual junction 280 at the start.

From the very first meters, you are surrounded by the rugged character of the environment. Nature shows itself here in a lively way, especially when it is adorned in autumn colors. Can you hear the stream bubbling at your feet? The water, infused with pyrite, has a striking red hue.

As you climb a hill, you hear above you the swelling sound of the nine-meter-high waterfall, which plunges into a wide basin. It remains a special sight in our predominantly flat country. We are also just a stone's throw from the High Fens, which act as a large sponge and from where a lot of water flows into the valleys and reservoirs.

You continue uphill, but the top is not far off. First, you walk along the "Fagne de Tîrifaye", and shortly after, while descending, you traverse a landscape that feels almost mountainous. Along the stream de Pouhon, the logging highlights how narrow the valley is that the water has carved out. Here and there, wooden bridges help you to cross the wetter passages, adding a pleasantly adventurous touch to the hike.

Parking Parking at the foot of the village of Longfaye, towards Ovifat, at the watermill Moulin du Bayehon.
Start: An information board indicates the starting point of the walk.
Recommended: Hiking shoes. Bring water.
Difficulty: Easy, except along the fens, where the paths are muddier.
