To Thon and the fortress of Samson

Start at the bottom of the Samson castle on the road to Thon in Samson/Namêche, where there is parking . Namêche station is not that far , on the other side of the Meuse.

We do not take the road to Thon but the Chemin 8 that takes us past an oratory dedicated to Saint Benedict, further through the fields to Thon , one of ' Les plus beaux villages de Wallonie '. We arrive in Thon at the Kasteelhoeve, with opposite a wall of the cemetery where there is a work of art within the framework of the project "Six pas vers l'Art entre Samson et Lesse" .

We do another loop on the plateau , passing the chapel of Saint-Roch, after which the descent begins towards the fortress of Samson. Here we go completely around which results in another tough climb.
